Our technical demonstrators regularly visit colleges to provide the workshops, training and feedback students need to perfect their skills and technique. We also offer video training when required and many of the college students we work with go on to compete in our Apprentice Decorator of the Year competition.
Working with local schools
We have particularly strong links with the many schools and colleges near our Head office in Darwen and our manufacturing hub in Hull. This includes our Technical Consultants showing school groups, aged between 8 and 16, the process of making paint from raw material to application.
Apprentices are extremely important to us too. Which is why, in past years, our colleagues have worked alongside Blackburn College to obtain an ILM Diploma in Management qualification, as part of the government’s Apprenticeship Levy Scheme.
Offering work experience
Our work experience programme is also a rich and diverse one, offering a true insight into the working life at Crown. From building PCs with our Digital team to working with our Finance department or creating new Marketing campaigns, students can spend anywhere from 1-4 weeks with us.
