Crown Paints supports local Charity through Project Possible Programme

Portadown Wellness Centres’ objective is to provide support and empowerment for those experiencing mental ill health, addiction, loneliness, isolation or physical illness.
It does this in a holistic way by offering emotional support through their team of professional counsellors and combining this with practical, therapeutic activities including classes in Arts & Crafts, Woodwork, Woodcarving, Sewing & Fashion, Yoga, Cookery & Baking and Pottery & Ceramics.
Mental illness can affect anybody regardless of your religion, background, financial status or sexuality and can be a very distressing and frightening experience.

Today 1 in 5 people in Northern Ireland will be experiencing mental health issues. This equates to 20% of the population.
There can be little, or no, emotional and practical support to help individuals and families through these difficult periods. This is where The Portadown Wellness Centre is able to bridge the gap and provide excellent outcomes to all involved.

At Crown, we help everyone paint their own possible. We believe that every pot of paint is brimming with potential and we want to put that in the hands of everyone. Because with paint, you can change a room, change a mood, even change a life. Through our Project Possible Programme we felt that we could, in some small way, support the Wellness Centre to help empower those individuals by providing a warm and welcoming space to meet and talk.

We have been happy to donate paint to help refresh the interior and exterior of the Wellness Centre to help paint a brighter future for all. At Crown Paints, it’s not just paint …It’s Personal!

This coupled with the unique ownership of Crown Paints by The Hempel Foundation meant that not only would the end users of the project have an excellent long lasting finish but also that use of the product will fund empowering children to learn, making coatings more efficient and sustainable, whilst sustaining biodiversity and realising great initiatives that bring about positive change.

Crown Paints identified The Portadown Wellness Centre through our connections with the Supporting Communities charity who are also committed to the transformation by providing team members to come along and help with the painting.

Alan McDowell, founder of The Portadown Wellness Centre, noted “Our team are so appreciative of Will Murdoch, National Specification Sales Manager, and Crown Paints for providing paint and equipment to totally refurbish our Wellness Centre and Empower Garden Centre.
Special thanks also to Colm McDaid, CEO of Supporting Communities for organising 10 of his team to come and paint our Centre on Wednesday 14th August 2024.

Everybody at Portadown Wellness Centre are “blown away” by this amazing act of community contribution and generosity.”
